🧡The Five Friends Every Woman Should Have

above average intelligence five friends positivity ride or die risk taker super mom Jun 27, 2024

In the journey of life, the company we keep plays a pivotal role in shaping our experiences and perspectives. For women, having a diverse and supportive circle of friends can make all the difference.

My circle of girlfriends has helped me survive some really challenging times in life. They have each supported me in different ways because they each have very diverse personalities. It’s so important to have a circle of friends and not a single friend to fill each role in your life. Here are five of my closest friends that represent the types of friends every woman should have to navigate the ups and downs of life with grace and confidence.

  1. The Risk Taker

Every woman needs a friend who pushes her out of her comfort zone. The Risk Taker is that daring individual who thrives on adventure and is always up for trying something new. Whether it's skydiving, starting a business, or simply approaching life with a fearless attitude, the Risk Taker encourages you to embrace uncertainty and chase your dreams.

Vicki and I became friends back in 2012. I was selling office furniture and she was on staff with ServPro. We met at a networking event and an instant friendship was born. Vicki, like me, is always on the go, high strung, and not afraid to try something new. Over the years we’ve invested in a real estate course, network marketed for a travel company, started an event planning company, loaned each other money, and cried lots of tears on each other’s shoulders.

Still today, Vicki is the friend that will try anything with me once and invest in a business we just know is going to be a hit! Every woman needs a Vicki. Life would be pretty boring without a little risk here and there.

Why You Need Her:

  • She inspires you to take bold steps and seize opportunities.
  • She shows you that failure is just a stepping stone to success.
  • She helps you build resilience and confidence in your abilities.

How to Recognize Her:

  • She’s always planning the next big adventure or project.
  • She has an infectious enthusiasm for life.
  • She challenges you to step out of your comfort zone.
  1. Miss Positivity

Miss Positivity is the friend who sees the silver lining in every situation. Her optimism is contagious, and she has a knack for lifting your spirits when you’re feeling down. With her around, you’re reminded that there’s always a brighter side and that positivity can transform even the toughest situations.

My sister, Shonna, is my ray of sunshine on any given day. She’s a bit injury prone, causing many trips to the emergency room over the years, but she laughs it off, gets her stitches and keep the memory as a later story to share. She’s the kind of sister that can hear ‘it’ in my voice when something isn’t quite right. She can always tell when I’m sad or fearful over a situation entirely out of my control. On the gloomy days, every woman needs a Shonna.

Why You Need Her:

  • She helps you maintain a positive outlook on life.
  • She provides emotional support during challenging times.
  • She encourages you to focus on your strengths and achievements.

How to Recognize Her:

  • She’s always smiling and upbeat.
  • She finds something good in every situation.
  • She uses positive affirmations and motivates others to do the same.
  1. Miss Above Average Intelligence

In a world where knowledge is power, having a friend with a sharp mind is invaluable. Miss Above Average Intelligence is the intellectual powerhouse who challenges you to think critically and broaden your horizons. Her insights and perspectives can open your mind to new ideas and possibilities.

Caroline is the friend that I share the most profound spiritual and intellectual conversations with. She’s incredibly intelligent and has taught me so much about healthy eating on a budget, growing my own herbs, the workings of nature, and just about anything you want to know about birds.

Not only do we have an unbreakable bond; we share families and made them into one even bigger family. We spend holidays together, weekly dinners, sports engagements, and ‘oops, I need a babysitter today’ happenings. If you haven’t found your Caroline yet, embrace her when you do!

Why You Need Her:

  • She stimulates intellectual growth and curiosity.
  • She offers well-informed advice and perspectives.
  • She encourages you to pursue lifelong learning.

How to Recognize Her:

  • She’s always reading or learning something new.
  • She engages in deep, meaningful conversations.
  • She offers insightful and thought-provoking perspectives.
  1. A Ride or Die

Loyalty and unwavering support are the hallmarks of a Ride or Die friend. She’s the one who’s been there through thick and thin, standing by your side no matter what. Whether you’re celebrating a triumph or weathering a storm, she’s your rock and confidant.

Nikki has been my friend since our children were little and we both were married; dating back to the early 2000s. It’s quite literal when I say she has my back. She’s the friend that will take off the earrings first and ask questions later. She knows me. I can share the good, the bad, & the ugly and she’ll still be my girlfriend.

Loyalty is hard amongst women at times. Nikki is not her. Even if we go months without chatting, she’s my ride or die friend. Every woman needs a Nikki.

Why You Need Her:

  • She offers unwavering support and loyalty.
  • She stands by you during both good and bad times.
  • She provides a sense of security and trust in your friendship.

How to Recognize Her:

  • She’s always there when you need her.
  • She knows your history and still loves you unconditionally.
  • She’s the first person you call with any news, good or bad.
  1. Super Mom

The Super Mom is the friend who seems to effortlessly juggle her family, career, and personal life. Her ability to manage it all with grace and efficiency is both inspiring and comforting. She offers practical advice and a compassionate ear, understanding the unique challenges of balancing multiple roles.

Marenda is tremendously important to me; my son, Cannon, calls her Mom. She has four children of her own and takes care of several others. Her life makes me feel tired just thinking about it. I literally know no other woman that can take care of a family with as much seeming ease and grace as Marenda.

The other notable trait of Marenda is her ability to get Cannon to try different foods! I’m a little bit jealous. He is super picky and has texture issues but after a couple days with his ‘Mom’, my son is eating something he wouldn’t dare touch for me!

Marenda is the kind of friend that truly gets the challenges of raising a family while attempting to hold on to sanity. When you find your Super Mom friend, keep her!

Why You Need Her:

  • She offers practical advice on time management and multitasking.
  • She understands the challenges of balancing different aspects of life.
  • She provides emotional support and a sense of camaraderie.

How to Recognize Her:

  • She’s a master at organizing and prioritizing.
  • She offers tips on balancing family, work, and personal time.
  • She’s empathetic and supportive, always ready to lend a hand.

Life is a journey best traveled with friends who uplift, challenge, and support you. Each of these five friends brings something unique and invaluable to the table, helping you become the best version of yourself. Cherish these friendships, nurture them, and watch how they enrich your life in countless ways.
